Tea tree has been tried and proven for:

MELALEUCA ALTERNIFOLIA LEAF OIL, LIMONENE, LINALOOL, GERANIOL

External use:

Put 3-6 drops of tea tree oil in a bowl of lukewarm water and cleanse or dab the affected skin area with it.
Tea tree oil ointment has excellent antibacterial properties and should be applied to affected areas of skin several times a day.

For throat care:

Mix 1-3 drops of tea tree oil in a glass of lukewarm water. You may rinse the mouth or gargle with this solution repeatedly.
Do not swallow.
